Regular Journaling has been proven to have both short and long-term benefits. Studies have shown that these health benefits include Stress Reduction, improved Cognitive Processing, decrease risk of illness, higher Memory and Comprehension and increased Self Confidence. One of the most significant benefits is a sense of Connection with the Self (by acknowledging inner needs and desires), which can be life-changing.
Does all this sound too lofty and woo-hoo? Don't worry, we understand if it does. All we ask is you try it for 15-20 mins a day, 3-5 times a week for about 2 months. If writing about feelings/thoughts is too daunting, just make a short list of things you are grateful for. Make it a Gratitude Journal, which has amazing benefits as well! Plus, if its good enough for Oprah(who's been journaling since she was 15yrs old) its good enough for us!
